Go Rockets!
Whether it is 34 or 84
degrees, raining or snowing;
nothing seems to get in
the way of a football
fan’s desire to support
a team. University of
Toledo Rockets fans are
no exception, as not
even election night kept
them away from their
beloved game.
OnTuesday, November
6th, over 18,000 fans,
including 3,000
students, marched
into the Glass Bowl,
with blankets, parkas
and extra layers of clothing. (Well, except those few
with extraordinary school spirit, who painted their
bodies just for the occasion). Who else was there? A
zany group of AAA associates, handing out Rocket/AAA
water bottles and greeting everyone brave enough
to challenge the cold. It had been rumored that prizes
were in some of the water bottles...another special treat
for those great Rocket fans.
Over the past several years, AAA and the University
of Toledo Rockets have been nourishing a growing
relationship. AAA has been stationing a vehicle at
home games, to assist drivers who experience car
troubles and the Rockets have been promoting AAA
to their students and fans. Building this relationship
has led to the recent introduction of a UT Rockets/
AAA membership card that is available to all of our
members at no additional cost. There is no need
to wait until your membership renewal either, just
call up our membership department and request a
Rocket card. In seven to fourteen business days there
will be some Rocket pride waiting in your mailbox! All
you have to do is ask!
And the Survey Says…
In December of 2011, AAA randomly mailed 318
surveys to members in the northwest Ohio area. The
purpose of the survey is to obtain information that will
assist us in representing the members’ best interest on
issues dealing with the ownership and use of private
passenger motor vehicles. AAA Northwest Ohio has
posted those results online for you to view at:

Winter Road Conditions
Winter road condition
reports will once again
be available through AAA
Northwest Ohio.
The data received
concerns interstates and
primary roads. Secondary
roads are not reported;
however, they are generally in worse condition
during severe weather. The information received
will cover an area approximately one day’s drive
from Toledo.
This vital information will be available to members
24-hours-a-day simply by logging on to
and look under the News and Safety section. This
service is in operation year round.
Maps for Schools
Each year, AAA Northwest Ohio updates its map
inventory and donates surplus maps to interested
northwest Ohio schools. Maps make great
interactive teaching tools. Coming in September, we
will offer a variety of maps based on availability for
free while supplies last. Teachers, stay tuned for more
information in your September/October AAA Now!
