Memorial Day
Saturday, May 28, and Monday, May 30
Roughly one year has passed since the club’s Board of Directors initiated a change of
direction at AAA North Jersey.
A new management team and
a strategic focus on the future have allowed your club to make great strides towards long term success. I would like to summarize these changes to illustrate the accomplishments of the past year.
• Our new executive management team, which consists of myself and four vice presidents who are responsible for all aspects of the club’s operation, was in place by May 2015.
• At the same time, we created the new position of Director of Marketing responsible for coordinating marketing activities across all business lines so as to more sharply focus and integrate our communications to our members and prospective members.
• In August, we created the position of Director of Information Technology. This position is responsible for updating our entire IT infrastructure as well as furthering the club’s cybersecurity capability to protect members' personal information.
• New leadership in our ERS and Travel departments have brought a forward thinking perspective to these areas of the club.
AAA North Jersey mourns the passing of William Visser, our former long-serving Manager of Public and Government Services, on March 22, 2016. Bill joined AAA North Jersey in 1989, soon after retiring as a captain in the Wayne Police Department. He
was instrumental in setting up many of our safety programs and campaigns. Bill was also a member of several police organizations and chambers of commerce, representing AAA North Jersey. Bill Visser graciously gave of his time and knowledge to everyone he came in contact with – he will be greatly missed.
• In August 2015 we successfully transitioned from an antiquated membership system to a modern AAA-designed system called MConnect.
• A consulting firm was hired to review all areas of the club’s operation focusing on our strategic direction, audit, budget and reporting processes. Valuable insights have been generated and implementation has begun.
• Renovations to our Wayne office have begun with Phase One completed in April 2016. Additional projects will reshape the look and feel of this office. Eventually other branch offices will be similarly renovated.
I am very proud of all of our 170 associates that have pulled together to achieve these significant accomplishments. Change is not always easy but it is essential to the health and future of any organization. Everyone at the club is committed to ensuring a successful future. Thank you.
