AAA Members Love Costa Rica TRAVE
L
Hola,
We cannot put into words how blessed we feel about our friends at AAA and especially Karin Dear for her time and effort in planning our perfect vacation to Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and at no cost, as we are AAA members. Our passport photos were also half price! Karen provided us with passport applications and explained how the process worked. She gave us three options of all-inclusive resorts in Guanacaste. We saved $800 in airfare,
by booking with Delta Airlines a week later than
we had planned. We opted for travel insurance to protect our investment and give us peace of mind. A $500 down payment on the trip and remainder due a month ahead of time was perfect planning. Trip paid, bags packed, passports in hand — we were off to Costa Rica!
A sincere, friendly welcome was given to us from Swiss Travel after we passed through customs. We literally were on our shuttle to the Riu within five minutes. On the shuttle, we met John and Carol from Buffalo, NY and they booked their trip online with a company they were not familiar with, which made them a bit nervous about the trip they had planned. Of course we were confident in all of
our arrangements as our AAA family was taking
great care of us and if anything went wrong we purchased the trip insurance. Our trip was $200 more than their online agency, however ours was of better value, we had travel insurance, two $35 spa certificates, and peace of mind that our AAA family had our backs!
As we entered the Riu, we were treated like royalty. The staff tagged our bags and placed
in holding area, we had cool drinks waiting and stepped inline to check in. The Riu Guanacaste had the most attentive and friendly staff; a pristine clean resort; beautiful landscape and beaches, pools, five restaurants, three bars and nightly entertainment. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach, an adventurous six-hour ATV tour, feeding monkeys that visited from the jungle, superman zip lining, massage
at the spa, winning at the resort casino and, our most favorite, the Catamaran Sunset Cruise, which included lunch, drinks and snorkeling. We booked the ATV tour through Mauricio, a local on the beach and we rode for six hours and if we booked from travel agencies in hotel we would have only rode for one hour for the same price. The Catamaran Sunset Cruise we opted to book with Swiss Travel
in the hotel to compare the difference to a local company on the beach. Swiss Travel was almost

double, but did include a meal and drinks. They both provided professionalism and friendly staff. Don’t let the rainy season scare you away from
Guanacaste. The rain is much different than Ohio. We vacationed mid-October and it was perfect! It was a warm and light rain in the morning; longest was maybe half hour of rain, and then 85 – 90 degrees for the day and rainbows. The sun rises
at 5:30 a.m. and sets at 5:30 p.m. The people in Guanacaste make $20 - $30 a day. They live a very simple life and are very kind. We enjoyed a very relaxing trip and made friends with a local family, to whom we are looking forward to sending a care package of items that will make their lives a bit easier.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, AAA Findlay!
!Pura Vida!
